What is a Nurse Call System?

A Nurse Call System is an emergency first aid alert system that protects workers and save lives on a construction site by alerting first aid staff of the location of an first aid emergency. The Cygnus system creates are powerful radio mesh network around a site, so that the nurse call buttons even work in deep basements and places where potentially there is no phone coverage or other communication.

How does a Nurse Call System work?

The Cygnus Nurse Call System is activated by lifting the cover and pressing the button. This triggers a radio alert on the mesh network and the signal is immediately sent via the wireless network with the location and type of the incident. The Cygnus Control Panel base station sounds the alarm and displays the location of the alert on the screen. If fitted the SMS text message module will broadcast the alert to the programmed phone numbers, the Radio Voice Module will broadcast the alert over the site radios and the Pager Transmitter will transmit the same message to all pagers on site. The first aid staff can then proceed to the location of the emergency and treat the injured person for their injuries. The Cygnus system helps the site staff by greatly reducing the response time for every first aid emergency and has been proven to save lives.
