CYG24F Evacuation and First Aid Alert Nurse Call Point Device – PIR Motion Sensor Optional.

The CYG24F is an evacuation and first aid call point with two separate buttons on one device. Each button produces a different tone across the site. The evacuation alert runs continuously at 110 dB(A) with a strobe. The first aid alert sounds intermittently every eight seconds. Nobody has to work out which emergency they're hearing.

Two tones prevent the wrong response

A single alarm tone covering both emergencies produces the wrong behaviour half the time. Workers evacuate when someone needs a first aid officer, or they stand around waiting for instructions when they should be walking out. The continuous tone means leave. The intermittent tone every eight seconds means someone needs medical help at the location the panel is showing. Both patterns are worth covering in your induction.

Silent nurse call has a place

The first aid alert can be programmed to silent, which sends the alert to the panel and the nominated responders without sounding across the site. On projects where a first aid activation would otherwise stop work across every trade, silent operation gets the responder moving without the disruption. It also spares the injured worker an audience.

Where these units go

Stairwells, exit points, main escape routes and temporary services locations, same as the evacuation-only devices. Fit the dual-button version where both emergency types are plausible, which on most active sites means most positions. The 110 dB(A) evacuation call point covers positions that only need evacuation, and the full Cygnus SiteProtect range shows the rest.

Getting the first aid response to the right place

The panel names the device and its location, which removes the search. Add the SMS module to the CYG14-SMS control panel and the alert also reaches the first aid officer's phone with the location in it. On a large site, that's the difference between a responder arriving in one minute and arriving in five.

Your first aid and emergency plan obligations

Regulation 43 of the model WHS Regulations requires you to prepare, maintain and implement an emergency plan. Safe Work Australia's guidance requires provision for medical treatment and assistance as part of that plan, and a way for workers to raise the alarm is the first step in delivering it.Call 1800 273 473 or email sales@checkpointgroup.com.au and we'll work out where dual-button units earn their place against evacuation-only.
