Description

The CYG14 wireless alarm control panel connects up to 480 Cygnus devices across 15 zones. Every device on the network relays signal to every other device, so adding call points strengthens coverage instead of stretching it. Line of sight installations reach over 1km without repeaters or boosters. The screen names the device that triggered and the zone it sits in.

What happens when someone presses a call point

The panel receives the signal, names the device and its zone on screen, and logs the time. You then decide whether to trigger a site-wide evacuation from the panel or handle the incident where it sits. The same evacuation function runs your drills, so the sequence your people rehearse matches the one they'll hear in a real event.

Broadcast modules push the alert past the panel

Someone has to be standing at the panel for the screen to do any good, which is why the CYG14 takes three broadcast modules. The SMS module texts incident details to nominated phone numbers. The UHF radio voice module announces the incident over your existing two-way radios. The pager module covers sites already running pagers. You can fit more than one.

The panel checks itself every six hours

Every device on the network reports signal strength and battery level back to the panel. A device that goes quiet or runs flat shows on screen before you need it. The panel repeats this check every six hours without anyone doing anything, and the downloadable log gives you dated evidence of both system health and every incident on site.

Where the CYG14 suits the site

Choose the CYG14 when the site is large, when you need more than one zone, or when the device count will climb as the build progresses. Sites under 32 devices on a single zone are better served by the CYG16 panel. You can see how the panel sits alongside the rest of the Cygnus SiteProtect range, or compare Cygnus against Orisent on our wireless alarm systems page.

How the panel supports your emergency plan

Regulation 43 of the model WHS Regulations requires you to prepare, maintain and implement an emergency plan for your workplace. Safe Work Australia's guidance on emergency plan duties names a siren or bell alarm as the mechanism for alerting people to an emergency, and requires you to test your emergency procedures at a stated frequency. The CYG14 covers both. It drives the alarm devices, and its drill function gives you a repeatable test with a dated log to show for it.Call 1800 273 473 or email sales@checkpointgroup.com.au and we'll size a Cygnus system against your site plan and device count.
