Description

Phone alerts fail in the places most likely to injure someone. Plant rooms, workshops, active work faces, anywhere with hearing protection on and machinery running. The ORI-35 solves that with sound and light together. When a nurse call trigger on the network activates, this unit sounds and flashes automatically. Nobody has to be looking at a screen.

Specifications

  • Siren and light activate automatically on a nurse call alert
  • Internal radio frequency module links to nurse call triggers
  • Mains powered, with no configuration beyond positioning
  • Manual deactivation once the emergency is handled
  • Works where distance or noise defeats other alert methods

A cheaper alternative to a second control panel

The usual fix for an area that misses alerts is a second control unit. That works and it's expensive. This unit does the alerting part without the management part. Where you need people in a remote or noisy area to know an alert has been raised, but you don't need them managing the system, it's the cheaper answer by a wide margin. One Touchscreen Control Unit in the office plus light and siren units in the noisy areas covers most sites.

Where to put them

  • Workshops and plant rooms with continuous machinery noise
  • Areas where hearing protection is mandatory
  • Outdoor work zones away from the office
  • Warehouse floors and large open spans
  • Any area where responders work but phones stay in lockers
The test is simple. Stand where the responder stands, with the site running as it normally does. If you can't reliably hear a phone from there, you need one of these.

The visual channel matters on its own

A siren doesn't reach a worker with hearing loss, and it doesn't reach one wearing Class 5 hearing protection either. The light does.Safe Work Australia's emergency plans guidance asks you to plan for hearing- and vision-impaired people at the workplace. Running both channels is how you cover a mixed workforce without needing to know in advance who's affected.

Manual deactivation is deliberate

The unit doesn't switch itself off. Someone turns it off once the emergency has been handled. That sounds like a small thing and it isn't. An alert that silences itself on a timer leaves people who arrived late assuming it's over. Manual deactivation means the signal stops when a person decides it should.Tell us which areas on your site can't reliably hear a phone and we'll work out how many units cover them.
