Micro USB Charger

It works as a permanent power supply for nurse call triggers, evacuation triggers and dual-function trigger and siren units. Plug it into the micro USB port and the device stops depending on its battery. It also charges the cells inside the device, so you don't eject the battery cartridge and carry it to the 8-port charger.

What it does

• Permanent power supply for nurse call triggers, evacuation triggers and dual-function units
• Charges batteries while they stay in the device
• Connects through the device's micro USB port
• No cartridge removal required

Charging in place changes the maintenance job

Pulling a battery cartridge means the device comes off the wall or sits dead while the cell charges elsewhere. During that window it isn't an alert point, and your emergency plan quietly has a hole in it.Charging in place removes that. Run a lead to the device, top it up, leave it working. On sites where devices sit in awkward positions or at height, that's the difference between a job someone does and a job someone puts off.

Deciding between battery, micro USB and mains

Three power options, three different reasons to pick them.

• Battery only where there's no supply and the position matters more than the convenience
• Micro USB where a power point is reachable but running proper mains isn't worth it
• Mains for fixed positions that won't move for the life of the project

Micro USB is the middle option most sites overlook. A device on a temporary wall near a general power outlet doesn't need a battery regime at all, and doesn't need an electrician either.Tell us how your devices are positioned and we'll work out which ones should be on permanent power.
