Description

Every cellular device on your Orisent system carries its own IoT SIM. That's how it reaches the cloud server, and it's why a cellular device works independently of everything else on site. One card per device. Budget it that way when you're pricing a cellular configuration, because the hardware quote and the running cost are two different numbers.

What it does

  • Connects the device directly to the Orisent cloud server
  • Removes any range dependency on other devices
  • Carries alerts, device status, battery level and signal strength
  • Billed monthly per device

What else cellular devices need

The SIM is one of two requirements. You also need active Subscription Services, which cover the operation of cellular triggers and sirens as well as the app and web portal.Neither is optional. A cellular siren or cellular nurse call trigger without both is inert hardware.

Check coverage before you commit

An IoT SIM needs a mobile signal at the mounting position. Not at the gate, not in the site office. At the position.Basements, deep excavations, tank farms and heavily steel-framed structures all attenuate signal. Where a position won't hold a connection, a radio frequency device linked back to a unit that can reach the network is the better answer, and it has no monthly cost attached.Send us your proposed device positions and we'll flag which ones look marginal for coverage.
