This foam fire extinguisher sticker identifies an air-foam unit and the fire classes it covers. The sticker uses self-adhesive vinyl and measures 190 mm square. It goes on any smooth surface that will not take a screw fixing.

Where foam belongs and where it does not

Foam extinguishers cover Class A and Class B fires. They blanket a flammable liquid surface and cut the fuel off from air. That makes them the standard choice around fuel storage, decanting areas, workshops, plant rooms and bunded compounds.Foam does not cover energised electrical equipment. That single point is why the identification sticker earns its place. Meeting AS 2444

AS 2444-2001 requires an identification sign above every portable extinguisher. Anyone approaching should be able to read the type and its fire classes on the way in.The extinguisher sits with its base at least 100 mm clear of the floor. The top of the handle stays no higher than 1200 mm. The sign goes above it, at roughly 2 to 2.5 metres.
