Emergency Downlight – Black Spitfire

Emergency Downlight Black Spitfire

This emergency downlight black Spitfire model mounts to the ceiling with a flex cable and plug. If an existing socket sits in the roof space, no electrician is needed to fit it.Retrofit projects benefit most from this fitting. The existing socket removes the need to open the ceiling void for new cabling. That cuts both cost and disruption on an occupied building. The black body suits a fitout where a white downlight would stand out against a dark ceiling. Function stays identical to the standard finish.A lithium battery holds the fitting in emergency mode for 2 hours after mains failure. Rated LED life is 50,000 hours. The body carries a D40 photometric classification under AS/NZS 2293.1, the standard a lighting designer uses to calculate fitting spacing.Spacing under a D40 classification differs between an open area and a corridor. The standard sets separate tables for each. Check the spacing calculation against your ceiling layout before ordering quantities. Getting this wrong leaves gaps in coverage that only show up during an actual power failure, not during a walkthrough. The IP20 rating and fire resistant material suit dry indoor ceiling voids. Design and manufacture follow AS/NZS 2293.3.AS/NZS 2293.2 sets the routine service and maintenance regime that applies once you install this fitting. Budget for the periodic testing this standard requires. A fitting that fails its test is no better than no fitting at all.Warranty runs 3 years. Choose this emergency downlight black finish for a dark ceiling or fitout colour scheme. Check the surface mount black downlight instead if the ceiling has no existing socket and hardwiring suits the job better.
