The Cygnus first aid alert call point puts two different emergencies on one device. Press the green button and a distinct intermittent tone tells the site someone needs medical help. Trigger an evacuation from the control panel and the same unit sounds a continuous 110dB alarm with a strobe. Nobody has to guess which one they're hearing.Each unit talks to every other unit on a mesh network, so there are no repeaters or boosters to install and no cabling to run. Range reaches beyond 1km with clear line of sight, and adding a device extends coverage rather than straining it.

What happens when a first aid alert is raised

The originating unit sounds an intermittent audible alarm, every other alarm unit on site sounds the same intermittent signal, and the event reports to the control panel, which sounds its buzzer and flashes the LED above the first aid button. That behaviour is configurable: you can set it to silent, or limit activation to a single unit if a site-wide response would cause more problems than it solves.

Where these units go

Stairwells, exit points, main escape routes and temporary service locations are the usual positions. Because the units are wireless and named by location in software, they move with the work. On a construction site where levels open up week by week, that matters more than any other feature on the list.
