Cygnus SiteProtect Custom Call Point CYGCCP

The CYGCCP custom call point is the configurable device in the Cygnus range. You choose the colour from green, blue, red or orange, choose whether it carries a sounder or a strobe alone, and choose whether it has a call point button at all. Custom name labels are available, and the unit sits in an IP65 enclosure on the same mesh network as the rest of the system.

Three decisions to make before you order

The colour, the alerting method and the button are separate choices, and each one changes what the device does on site.

• Colour tells people at a glance which alarm type they're looking at
• Strobe only suits quiet areas and positions where noise would cause a problem
• Sounder and strobe together suit noisy areas and positions with poor sightlines
• With a button, the device lets someone raise an alarm
• Without a button, the device only signals, which extends alarm coverage into an area that has none

Ordering without the button

A CYGCCP with no button works as a signalling device rather than a call point. Fit it where people need to hear or see the alarm but don't need a way to raise one, which usually means corridors, stairwell landings, plant rooms, external walkways and any dead spot where the nearest call point is audible but not clearly. Adding signalling devices costs less than adding full call points and improves coverage in the same way.

Colour separates one alarm from another

Sites running several alarm types on one network end up with identical housings doing different jobs. A worker who has to read a small label under pressure will press the wrong one. Colour coding by function means people learn the colour rather than the wording, which holds up better across a workforce that changes weekly and includes subcontractors who started this morning.

Matching your colours to your signage

Safety colours carry meaning under AS 1319, and green already reads as emergency or safe condition across Australian workplaces. Choose colours that agree with what your signage already says rather than picking whatever looks distinct on the drawing. Record the scheme in your emergency plan and cover it at induction so the colour means the same thing to everyone on site.

How it fits the rest of the system

The CYGCCP reports through the CYG14 control panel alongside standard devices, so activations appear in the same event log with the unit's name against them. Your emergency plan obligations

Regulation 43 of the model WHS Regulations requires you to prepare, maintain and implement an emergency plan.
