The Commander CPFHR-F is a fixed fire hose reel with 36 metres of 19mm hose. It plumbs directly into the building water main and supplies a continuous, controllable stream of water for first attack on Class A fires. Class A fires involve wood, paper, textiles, rubber and other ordinary combustibles.The reel is certified to AS/NZS 1221, the Australian and New Zealand Standard for the design, construction and performance of fire hose reels. Installation is governed separately by AS 2441.

What is supplied

The reel ships boxed and complete. It includes the mounting bracket, DN25 (25mm) inlet pipe, DN25 WaterMark certified ball valve, DN25 union and hose guide. A licensed plumber hard-plumbs the reel to the main. Do not connect a hose reel to the supply with flexible hose.

Where the 36m fixed model suits

Choose the fixed model where the wall behind the reel is load bearing and the hose can run out in a straight line without fouling a doorway or a rack. Under AS 2441, a 36 metre hose plus a 4 metre allowance for the water stream must reach every part of the floor area the reel serves. Re-partitioned floors and new mezzanines break that coverage quietly, so check the reach against the current floor plan rather than the original drawings.
