The kit supplies the two signs a CO2 unit needs at its mounting point. A CO2 fire extinguisher sign kit covers both jobs. The location sign says where the extinguisher is. The identification sign says what agent sits inside it.Two signs answer two different questions. Under AS 2444, every extinguisher position needs a location sign. Mounting the signs correctly

Fire and Rescue NSW sets the placement rules out plainly for business premises. Mount the location sign a minimum of 2000mm above floor level. Position it so the extinguisher or its sign reads clearly from up to 20 metres on approach. Keep a minimum 1000mm clearance around the extinguisher itself.Extinguisher mounting heights run to a maximum 1200mm from floor to the top of the handle. The minimum is 100mm from floor to the base.

Where CO2 signage matters most

CO2 units guard switchboards, server rooms, plant rooms and workshops with live equipment. Those areas often hold more than one extinguisher type on the same wall.
