Description

CYG14-SMS Cygnus SiteProtect Control Panel

The CYG14-SMS is a CYG14 panel with the SMS module already fitted. When a device triggers, the panel texts the incident type and location to the phone numbers you've loaded. It holds two separate phone books, one for work hours and one for after hours, so the site manager isn't fielding a 2am intruder alert that should have gone to your security contractor. Everything the standard CYG14 does, this panel does too.

Two phone books, two shifts

During work hours your site supervisor and first aid officer need to know. Overnight and across the weekend, that same alert should reach whoever is actually rostered on, or the security company holding your after-hours contract. The panel switches phone books on a schedule you set, so the alert reaches the person who can act on it rather than the person who happened to be listed first.

What the panel sends and what it doesn't

The SMS goes to the numbers you enter. If one of those numbers belongs to a monitoring company, you get monitored response, and that arrangement sits between you and that company rather than with the equipment. Cygnus supplies the alert. Setting up who receives it, and what they do next, belongs in your emergency plan.

Pairing SMS alerts with detection

The SMS module earns its keep on sites that sit empty. Add PIR motion sensors and you'll know about an intruder while they're still on site. Add smoke and heat detectors and a fire in an unattended compound reaches a phone instead of waiting for the morning shift. The full Cygnus SiteProtect range shows which devices report through the panel.

Meeting your emergency plan obligations

Regulation 43 of the model WHS Regulations requires you to prepare, maintain and implement an emergency plan. Safe Work Australia's guidance requires provision for medical treatment and assistance, and requires you to plan for people with hearing, vision or mobility impairment. A text message reaches a worker who can't hear a siren, and it reaches a first aid officer who is nowhere near the panel.Call 1800 273 473 or email sales@checkpointgroup.com.au and we'll help you set the phone book structure before the panel arrives on site.
